Business Need

Healthcare professionals often interact with vendors in situations that require tact, professionalism, and sound judgment. Poor communication in these moments can create confusion, strain relationships, or weaken alignment with organizational priorities. This project was designed to help learners navigate vendor conversations more effectively through realistic, decision-based practice.

Design Approach

This project was designed as a scenario-based learning experience that places learners in realistic communication situations involving vendors and healthcare professionals. The experience was structured to help learners evaluate response options, consider the impact of tone and strategy, and practice stronger communication choices in context. The goal was to create a focused, practical learning experience that connected communication decisions to professional credibility and workplace effectiveness.

Step 1

Analysis

Defined the communication challenge within a healthcare context and identified the key interaction points, stakeholder needs, and judgment skills the learning experience needed to address.

Design

Used an ADDIE-informed approach to structure the experience around realistic vendor communication scenarios, response choices, and communication outcomes that reflected workplace relevance.

Step 3

Development

Built the project using interactive scenario elements, visual support, and learner-centered design strategies to create an experience that was clear, focused, and instructionally aligned.

Portfolio Presentation

Adapted the final project into a portfolio case study that highlights instructional design thinking, scenario development, and the translation of a professional communication challenge into an engaging digital learning experience.
